Representatives from GitHub and The Case Foundation will host a discussion around:
  • Diversity in Open Source
  • Effective open source education and onboarding tools for non-techies in the social sector
  • Enhancing the discoverability of open source tools and products for the social sector
  • Deep dive into data and privacy misconceptions the social sector has about open source
We’d like to hear from the community to better understand potential solutions to these challenges.
While anyone may sign up for the session, GitHub and The Case Foundation will issue final invitations. Participation must be in person in Washington DC. Limited honorariums to cover transport costs are available to a few especially qualified individuals. Please see the full invitation for more information and to submit your name for this session!

Who should attend?
  • Experts in the fields of tech for social good who have a strong familiarity with open source technologies
  • Experts in the field of open source for social good who are actively working in global communities outside the US and Europe
  • Open source developers, maintainers, M&E practitioners, data scientists, statisticians, designers
  • Grant makers or other philanthropic funders of tech for social good / open source for good
  • Those who feel there are limits to how nonprofits can engage with the open source ecosystem
  • Strong preference for those who have worked on the implementation and/or deployment of open source tools for social good

This session will take place at the Case Foundation offices and you must pre-register in order to attend.
