The Journey to Self-Reliance (J2SR) initiative announced last year by USAID will require collaboration with key MERL stakeholders if it is to realize widespread adoption. MERLTech is happy to have Sarah Tisch: Director, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning at Panagora Group moderate a discussion with USAID representatives around the new USAID Journey to Self-Reliance (J2SR) metrics and Country Roadmaps. With help from Behar Xharra from Keshif, and Dar Maxwell from Panagora, participants will explore ways they can utilize J2SR Roadmap and secondary metrics for their own strategic planning, activity design, and adaptive management efforts.

This one-hour MERLTech panel is part of a series of public engagements by John Gardner, J2SR Metrics Team Lead in the Bureau for Policy Planning and Learning. The panel will also feature Mark Skeith, a USAID PPL Policy Analyst who led the design of the Roadmap and curated the 17+ metrics upon which they are based. After the presentation the team will answer questions and get feedback from representatives of the MERLTech community (that’s you!) about how they can strengthen this nascent policy.
