This session is aimed at people who are involved in collecting and using potentially sensitive data - program staff, technical experts, AND IT staff. This session provides a simple approach to discussing the potential for benefits and risks associated with data - by different groups - and a common framework for discussing how to improve benefits to different groups as well as mitigate risks. This approach is useful for teams to engage in early in program design, to help identify areas where there may be tensions between privacy protection and data integrity, data security and transparency, and other factors. It is a good process to engage in before the development of an IRB and/or Privacy Impact Assessment, as it helps bring out potential benefits and risks in a multi-functional setting.
